Honda is examining ways to increase production at its U.S. factories, including the possibility of moving some plants from two shifts to three shifts and adding weekend production. The move comes as tariffs on Japanese imports put pressure on the company's profitability. Honda estimated that tariffs would have a significant impact on its fiscal-year operating profit.
Subaru is also looking to increase output at its Indiana assembly plant, which has additional production capacity. The automaker is simultaneously reconsidering the timing and allocation of its electrification investments as it responds to weaker-than-expected EV demand and higher tariff costs
