Nissan Motor and Honda Motor have agreed to jointly develop computer components and software for vehicles expected to enter the market in fiscal 2029. The companies will share standardized components for core electronic control units, or ECUs, as part of the cooperation.

The agreement expands the technology cooperation discussions the two Japanese automakers began in 2024. By sharing software and electronic architecture development, Nissan and Honda aim to reduce development costs and improve their ability to compete in increasingly software-driven vehicles
